6 Reasons to LOVE Speed Racer

Image
I've decided this is how I'm going to handle reviewing the summer movies. If  I see a movie that stinks I'l let you know the 6 reasons I don't like it. Don't know why exactly 6 but maybe I'll figure it out by the end of the sumer. Pretty simple little lay out enjoy. 6. The Mach 5 - I had forgotten how insanely cool the Mach 5. It's probably the second coolest car in all of nerdom and maybe movies period. First being the Delorean from Back to the future. The car moves and is only as good as Speed who drives the car (as characters in the film put it) like a piece of art. The car looks cool in all of it's different incarnations, and no one ever mentions how Speed is afraid of crashing up in it. The jumps it can make are bad ass, and the buzz saws which were my favorite feature growing up didn't get a lot of play but had a cool moment.   It left me wanting to drive fast and wanting to paint a letter M and number 5 on my white Chevy Impala. Booster Gold is New Reader Friendly

Image
Rich  said this in his last blog post.  " Booster Gold #7  - No real surprises this time round but nicely crafted stuff with lots of nods to continuity - although I do wonder if that very thing doesn't make it a bit of a niche book that basically appeals only to fanboys (and girls). " Rokk  also felt that Booster Gold #5 wasn't accessible to new readers.  Which makes me wonder do you think Booster Gold is a niche book that only appeals to fanboys ?  I would argue, no. I feel quite the opposite. I think Booster Gold, has been a book that can introduce new readers to DC history. Johns and Katz are skilled in giving exposition and have all the tools necessary to explain it to the readers with out it feeling forced. They have often teamed up Booster with people not in the know of that is going on Jaime Reyes, Jonah Hex, and Dan Garrett to cite a few. They also have Skeets who usually explains everything to Booster anyway...

Chorus of Comics part. 1 animated edition

If I'm all alone when I'm reading comics I usually read out loud. Doing my best impersonation of every character's voice. Like when I read Green Arrow, there is no other voice that fits as perfectly and as uniquely as Kin Shriner. His gravelly voice makes the character seem honest and real. I also use Kin's voice for Tony Stark when I read Mighty Avengers or Iron Man. Also of note, is Jeffrey Combs performance as The Question. Although the question died in 52. I've kept my Jeffrey combs impersonation alive in the DCU as both the new Doctor Fate,  and Dr. Will Magnus.  In the Marvel U I find he's a pretty good Mr. Fantastic. When it come to X-men my two faves Gambit and Wolverine always sound like this. Thank you Chris Potter and Cal Dodd. While were on the subject of X-men I am fond of Brad Swaile as Nightcrawler. He gave a terrific performance in X-men: Evolution. Giving Nightcrawler the innocence and cheerfulness that ...
