#HEADLINES: #Ferguson Edition -- The Case for Police Reform Is Much Bigger Than Michael Brown; Ferguson Grand Jury Evidence Reveals Mistakes, Holes In Investigation; Crime Scene Medical Examiner Took No Measurements, Photos of Brown; A prominent legal expert eviscerates the Darren Wilson prosecution in 8 tweets; Ferguson Cop Darren Wilson on Michael Brown’s Death: ‘I Have a Clean Conscience’

The Case for Police Reform Is Much Bigger Than Michael Brown -- The Atlantic

"But even protesters who want to highlight the specific problem of white police officers shooting black men—even those who want to do so by saying 'don't shoot' while raising their arms in the air—needn't rely on a murky incident with conflicting eyewitness testimony where there's a chance that the unknowable truth would exonerate the officer. Instead, they can show skeptics this video from Columbia, South Carolina:
When I want to persuade a skeptic that police can misbehave so badly that it's hard to believe until one sees it, that is the incident I thrust before them. Given an hour of their time, I could fill it with other incidents on YouTube, almost all of which were totally ignored by most of the commentators who are now flaunting their outrage at anyone evaluating evidence in Ferguson differently than they do. This alienates potential allies and converts on the larger issue of police abuse ... for what?"

St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office
Ferguson Grand Jury Evidence Reveals Mistakes, Holes In Investigation -- Huffington Post

"Soon after Officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old, law enforcement’s handling of the case was already being criticized as callous and sloppy. Residents of Ferguson, Missouri, looked on in horror as police officials failed to cover and later to remove Brown’s body from the street for hours.

Now that the grand jury evidence, including forensic records and testimony from Wilson and those investigating the fatal shooting, has been released, it's clear that other mistakes were made in attempting to figure out what happened on that August afternoon. The best physical evidence and testimony might not have been as ironclad in Wilson's favor as prosecutor Robert McCulloch characterized it on Monday night.

From the reams of grand jury testimony and police evidence, here are some key points that, if this case had gone to trial, could have been highlighted by prosecutors (not including the witnesses who appeared to contradict Wilson’s testimony):"

Stephen Lam -- Reuters
Crime Scene Medical Examiner Took No Measurements, Photos of Brown -- Newsweek

"Before the grand jury made the decision not to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson for shooting and killing African-American teenager Michael Brown, they heard testimony from around 60 witnesses, including Wilson. Of those 60, three were medical examiners; many of the details known about the moments after Brown’s death came from the only examiner that witnessed the crime scene. That medical examiner, who was not named, arrived at the scene after the detective, and strangely, did not take any photographs.

The detective, whose name was also redacted, testified before the grand jury. He was asked, 'So when you arrived [at the crime scene,] the medical examiner had not been notified?' The detective explained, 'To my knowledge, no. Sergeant [redacted] informed me that they had not been.… My main concern was making sure the medical examiner was dispatched.… If the suspect is deceased, then the next step would be to contact the medical examiner.' It’s unclear from the testimony why the sergeant did not contact the medical examiner himself."

Scott Olson -- Getty Images
A prominent legal expert eviscerates the Darren Wilson prosecution in 8 tweets -- Vox

"Following the grand jury decision in Ferguson, Missouri, prominent lawyer and MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Bloom argued on Twitter that St. Louis County prosecutors did a bad job questioning Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson about the shooting of Michael Brown. She argued the questioning was basically a 'tea party,' far from the 'grueling session' it should have been.

Read some of Bloom's tweets:"

Ferguson Cop Darren Wilson on Michael Brown’s Death: ‘I Have a Clean Conscience’ -- Time

"The Ferguson police officer whom a grand jury has chosen not to indict in the August shooting death of an unarmed teenager said in an interview Tuesday he would not have done anything differently because he was trying to save his own life.

In an interview that aired Tuesday evening with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News, Darren Wilson recalled the incident and said, 'The reason I have a clean conscience is because I know I did my job right.' The sit-down marked his first since Monday evening’s announcement that a grand jury had declined to charge him for the killing of Michael Brown, which ignited bouts of looting and arson in Ferguson despite state efforts to prepare for the possibility of violence. Demonstrations from New York City to Los Angeles played out into the night."

Writing Wasted Youth

Today is a special day. I've been working on a movie script for 8 years and today I finally finished a rough first draft of it. The script is called Wasted Youth.

It is an independent movie about four friends on a night of adventure in Miami. It's a millennial epic of minute proportions and a version of it is actually done. It's way too long. So now the hard work comes editing and making it good. Their is one song that encapsulates the movie for me, that will probably be the biggest hurdle in getting this movie completed. That song is by one of my favorite artists Meatloaf. So if anyone knows Meatloaf I got a script for him to read.

Stay tuned for more Wasted Youth updates

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Teaser and Vundablog Analysis

It has arrived, and it does not disappoint. It is dripping in style and cool. I love everything about this trailer. The way the music plays, the shots chosen, and the voice over. So far JJ has me at hello.  Let me take you through what were the major highlights for me.

I love the cuteness and uniqueness of this droid. Ihope he plays a big part. It might be a weird dynamic to add a third droid to a perfect two man team, but if anyone can pull it off it's JJ. Do you think this droid is all practical, all cgi, or a mix of both?

The vehicle design is magnificent. Things look real and like a natural progression from the original trilogy. I love this massive speeder bike thing that looks like a popsicle and have no doubt there will be like twelve toys of it.

No list of this trailer's awesome would be complete with out mentioning the cross guard light saber. It looks menacing and unique and just all kinds of badass. The look of the bleak snow covered wood, by a cloaked figure is reminiscent of Game of Thrones or the Lord of the Rings in a good way.

Finally the grand daddy, the one the only the Millennium Falcon. How we've missed this ship. Seeing it flying around and fighting tie-fighters on Tatooine is impressive and makes you realize why you've missed this old ship so much.

I'm excited.

Thanks J.J.

Now I can't believe we have to wait a year.

Lego MiniFigure of the Week: Cyclops

This week we have one of my favorite Mini-figures of my collection. Scott Summers aka Cyclops the one true leader of the X-men. Cyclops was right! Love this mini-figure for having yellow trunks on the pants piece. Also enjoy the full hood look. Hope they one day make a 90's era one with a hair piece and sash. Kind of like this.

ROSE among thorns: Tarantino Django Unchained

I love the interviews Charlie Rose conducts. Charlie Rose doesn't need a fancy set to ask questions all he needs is an entertaining person to interview and fill the back ground with the deep thoughts most shows don't have time to air. My favorite Charlie Rose show interview subject is Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is always open and candid with Charlie, and by this point in their careers can talk like old friends. Tarantino espouses some great advice in part 3.

Fake Fighting Frenzy: The Rock & Chris Jericho vs Dudley Boyz

Love the Jericho name plate gag and the Rock answers in kind. Plus Heyman and Ross on commentary are phenomenal. Great selling by the Dudley's, and I love the orchestration of the People's elbow and the Jericho dropkick from the top rope on the Rock by accident. Plus the Rock Bottom finish is perfect. Wish I had been watching at this time.

PERSONS OF INTEREST: Sariah Gallego self proclaimed Sith Lord

This adorable little sith girl is the type of fan we respect around Vundablog. I don't appreciate how the Jedi just leads her away like she did something wrong. She doesn't want to be a Disney Princess she wants to be a sith lord. Keep it up Sariah.

So I've been a supporter and fan of Headlocked for sometime now. I absolutely love this book and the ongoing story it is telling. They have a new kickstarter that needs your help. I supported their last kickstarter and got drawn into the book as a camera man.

This time around I can't shell out the big bucks and get drawn in. I'm only an autograph seeker this time. However, what I can do is urge you to support this amazing comic that is inspiring, entertaining, heart wrenching, and fun as hell. The story is filled with drama, humor, intrigue, mystery, and gritty realness. It's everything you could want as a wrestling fan or comics fan. I supported it and you can too.

CAMEO CORNER: Matt Damon's Greatest Cameo

One of my favorite parts of movies is random celebrity cameos and no-one does it better than Matt Damon in Eurotrip.
