Scary Parts -- "Meet Me There" feat. Goldust

via meetmetheremovie.com: "Based on a bizarre town in rural Oklahoma where there are more crime scene cleanup employees than there are mailboxes, Meet Me There blurs the lines between horror, suspense, romance, and fear.
Starring Lisa Friedrich (Least Favorite Love Songs), Micheal Foulk (Zero Charisma) and featuring Dustin Runnels (WWE's Goldust) and Jill Thompson (Scary Godmother).
Brought to life by director/cinemtographer/editor, Lex Lybrand (Summer League), Meet Me There is born out of a collection of real-life stories from the vault of writer, Brandon Stroud (Seven Hill City) and Destiny Talley."
Most people who know me (Derrick) relatively well know that I'm not particularly keen on horror movies. I have a few favorites. The original Halloween is obviously immune to the "I don't like horror movies" crowd because it's just a brilliant film (and I don't give a f*ck, I LOVE the Rob Zombie remake...I mean I f*cking LOVE it). Ditto The Shining, Psycho, and Silence of the Lambs--although those are really more suspense than horror--and also The Omen, Carrie, and The Exorcist. I was also totally into Scream and The Blair Witch Project and The Ring when they came out. My favorite horror movie is kinda not a horror movie at all in the end (Cabin in the Woods) which is probably why it's my favorite horror movie. Point being that horror movies are not exactly my thing but there are certainly those special few that really grab me for one reason or another from time to time.

Enter Mr. Brandon Stroud of Uproxx/WithLeather fame whose Best and Worst of WWE Raw column was/is pretty much single-handedly responsible for getting me to care about and start following WWE again last year following WrestleMania XXIX. The combination of his STAGGERING knowledge of (and love for) wrestling, his intelligent, hilarious writing style, and his progressive stances on the role of women and minorities and the rampant racism and sexism in wrestling have simultaneously inspired me to start loving (and sometimes writing about) wrestling again and humbled me into secretly never wanting to write about wrestling again because I know, like, 1/10th as much about it as he does.

So, of course, when I found out he wrote a horror movie, I was so totally down. Then, when I found out that movie would be starring none other than Dustin Runnels (aka WWE's Goldust), I knew it had to be something special. And if the teaser above and the BRAND NEW and extremely NSFW one below are any indication, it will be.

For those of you who will be in New Orleans for WrestleMania XXX (or just, y'know, live there) the World Premiere of Meet Me There will be Friday, April 4th at 11:59pm as part of Film-O-Rama in New Orleans. Stay tuned to meetmetheremovie.com for more details. Hopefully soon after it will be available for the rest of us to enjoy! Until then, enjoy this brand new badass red band teaser trailer...
