When Burns is shot after a town hall meeting, everyone has motive and everyone is a suspect.

Episode 7F08 Original Airdate: November 15th, 1990 Writer: Jeff Martin Director: Rich Moore Commentary by: Matt Groening, Jeff Martin, Al Jean, Mike Reiss, and Rich Moore Synopsis After a hard day's work mowing the lawn (well, not really), Ned invites Homer to his "Rumpus Room" for a beer but Homer storms off, accusing Ned of "rubbing his nose" in the fact that Ned's "family is better than" Homer's family, Ned's "beer comes from farther away than" Homer's beer, Ned and his sons "like each other," and Ned's "wife's butt is higher than [Homer's] wife's butt."  Ned writes an apology letter but Homer, Bart, and Lisa just make fun of him. Marge exclaims that she wishes the Simpsons were as close as the Flanders, so Homer decides to take everyone out for milkshakes and mini-golf, where they run into the Flanders. Bart and Todd discover that there is a mini-golf tournament ...

When he does, she makes him promise he won't drink any alcohol. credit:  SimpsonsGIFs However, when Homer comes face-to-face with "the merciless peppers of Quetzlzacatenango" ("Grown deep in the jungle primeval by the inmates of a Guatemalan insane asylum."), he begins a psychedelic journey he won't soon forget. Or maybe he will immediately. Who's to say, really?

I was raised on The Simpsons. From the ripe young age of six years old, I was hooked on America's favorite anti-nuclear family. I still remember the VHS tape I had at that age that my mom must have recorded for me at the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2. It had seven episodes on it, all in the order they aired (skipping only "Dancin' Homer"): "Krusty Gets Busted" (Season 1 Episode 12) "Some Enchanted Evening" (S1E13) "Bart Gets an F" (S2E1) "Simpson and Delilah" (S2E2) "The Simpsons Halloween Special" later renamed "Treehouse of Horror" (S2E3) "Two Cars in Every Garage, Three Eyes on Every Fish" (S2E4) "Dead Putting Society" (S2E6) To this day, I consider these some of the best Simpsons episodes ever and each one always makes me incredibly nostalgic because they were the foundation of my love for The Simpsons and also because I watched them over and over and over ...
