Cosplay Pictures from Sunday at Shock Pop Comiccon

Image
Stephen and Danielle were in attendance on Sunday at Shock Pop Comiccon 2015 . Danielle was in her signature handmade Puppycat suit, while Stephen wore two t-shirts throughout the day (one an El Rey Network shirt and the other Star Wars Ep.6 Revenge of the Jedi shirt). We had a great time at the con met a ton of cool people and got to geek out about all manner of things nerdy. As is tradition we were snapping pictures of cosplayers that ran across our path. The cosplayers weren't quite as plentiful as on Saturday, when the cosplay championships were being held. However I did manage to find some cool cosplays. Wish I could've caught more of the amazing cosplays I saw, but we were busy representing for the podcast getting interviews with Lisa Hammer and Alvaro Rodriguez that will be made available shortly. Click read more for more pics, our Cosplay Champion of the Vundablog, and a music video of the con's best cosplays by FDSedanoArts .

Image
As seen before the Batman Brave and the Bold has amazing musical sequences involving Batman and the DC universe. This one let's you rock out with the Joker. The song is quite catchy and get's stuck in your head. "Smile darn ya smile" is almost as iconic as "why so serious" as far as Joker quotes go.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws pt. 1

Image
This week I thought we should share a comic related tidbit. Walt Flanagan does a SIT show called Walt Flanagan Draws. Here we see Walt render and tells us about some of his favorite heroes and villains. I'm a Deadshot fan love his design as Walt points out, his design is of Boba Fett greatness. I love the character and his pencil thin mustache. I dig the full Deadshot mask as opposed to his current TV and video game renditions, where he has an open mouth more like Batman. I like how in Batman comics he's sort of a Bizarro version of Batman. Only his obsession isn't the bat in the window but the barrel of the gun. Batmite is a fun character and in the hands of a great writer like Grant Morrison or Pa ul Di ni the character can really work. For an amazing Fatman on Batman view on the character check out the the Diedrich B ader episodes . The Joker is of course the villain of all villains in comic books. His design is so pimp and yet creepy, whi...

YOUTUBE GOLD: reel geezers have a dark night at the Dark Knight

My Dark Knight review is coming soon sorry for the delay but it's taken a while to put my thoughts together. i was watching reel geezers review on dark knight which you can see here. I never heard of Batman's origin as Bat's being all criminals common fear and that's why he chose it as his mantle. It's campy, cool, and kind of neat. Although kind of lame. It got me thinking what other explanations for Batman's style could or have people come up with. If anyone knows any better justifications for dressing up as a bat please let me know below.
