Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws Pt. 5 Arkhamites

Image
I love watching Walt Flanagan Draw I hope this web-series never stops. I need him to draw all the Doom Patrol, Metal Men, all the Challengers of the Unknown, all of Kirby's fourth world characters, and then I wanna see Walt draw the Marvel Universe. Please keep this series going smod co crew. This week Walt draws two more members of the Dark Knight Detective's rogues gallery: The Riddler and Clayface . Walt's take on the Riddler has the 60's Batman vibe. I think that series captured the Riddler most accurately of all the series villains. His green and purple design is classic and parroted by other comic book classics such as the Green Goblin and the Incredible Hulk . I like to have some orange in the suit since I grew up watching Jim Carrey riddle it up in Batman Forever . I think one of the most believable and cool designs for the Riddler was from The Batman cartoon that in the 2000's. He looks like Marilyn Manson and is a bomber who has riddle...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws pt. 4 A Couple of Dicks

Image
Walt's going to draw a couple of Dick's today. Some Dick Grayson's of course. In his two greatest forms as the Boy Wonder Robin, and as Bludhaven's grim disco defender Nightwing.   Walt's preferred Nightwing is the disco collar Nighwing, from his debut. I dig the version of Nightwing's outfit they had in he BTAS . I like the blue symbol over the red one, because the red one reminds me of Chris O'donell as Robin. Though I understand the idea behind the red as oppose to light blue, as his old Robin costume is red. However, I think Nightwing is Dick really redefining his personality, so I like that he is the combination of Batman's black and Superman's blue. Since Nightwing was the original name Superman fight's crime as in the bottle city of Kandor. Dick chose that name to honor his two mentors Superman and Batman. His old school Robin costume is classic and doesn't feel unrealistic to me. I think that Burt Ward maybe res...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: 420 NOOTCH

Image
So this is a special edition of Smodcast Share Time as it lines up with the most appropriate Kevin Smith Holiday 420 Nootch! This year I urge you to go out and support the smodco. Go to Itunes purchase Kevin Smith's Cartoon Lagoon . It's three measly bucks and it's twenty-plus minutes of funny. Emphasis on the fun. There's a puppet Shecky, Jay dressed like Gilligan, and some choice Smodco animated goodness. The type of material I could've stretched out for a month on Smodcast Share Time. It's all here in a perfect morsel.   There's an appearance by Hollywood Babble-on's Ralph Garman reprising his role in spoilers in animated form as Doctor Cartoonius the man who sells Kev his yellow submarine. Ralph also plays an animated shark named Benchley who sounds just like the governator. There's a bit of a Pee-Wee Herman-ish live action/cartoon/puppet segment with Kev and Jay and then they introduce a bunch of sweet Smodco cartoons adapted from...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws pt. 3 World's Finest

Image
This week Walt's going to tell us all about the World's Finest superheroes. Perfect and iconic designs ther very bread and butter of the DC universe.   Superman is the corner stone of the DC universe. He puts the super in everyones super-powers. His trademark spit curl as Walt points out is as important a trademark as the S on his chest. I love Superman his bright colors in some way embody the cosmic strength of his character. I like my Supes in the red undies, the new 52 one piece blue uniform doesn't seem that cool to me. As you can see this altered Chris Reeve , photo. Next up is the man who puts the Detective in Detective Comics. The Dark Knight Detective, the Batman. Walt draws a strong Batman who feels totally like James Bond brooding in a cape. The long ears are also reminiscent of the Justice League version of the DCAU's Batman.  Love the Aparo Batman style and I think Walt does a great job emulating it. Over on Fatman on Batman you can...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws pt. 2

Image
Let's go over some more episodes of the SIT sensation Walt Flanagan Draws . Walt has a deep appreciation of George Perez and Marv Wolfman' s Teen Titans. Which is why he starts drawing the demon's of the DC universe. I'd love to see Walt draw Trigon in a battle against John Constantine and Swamp Thing and all the dark and magical DC characters. Kevin has talked to Tara Strong who voiced Trigon's daughter Raven on the Teen Titan's animated series. A great comics and animation themed episode of Fatman on Batman . Keeping with the demonic theme, here is Blue Devil. I can dig the old design, but I like his design from his Shadowpact days. The t-shirt and jeans is much cooler, even if it does feel like he's ripping off Hellboy a bit. The new 52 design I don't find so engaging, cause it keeps him small and looking a little bit like he's in a fetish club. I like the way they treat his origin and mythology. The movie studio that gave ...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Walt Flanagan Draws pt. 1

Image
This week I thought we should share a comic related tidbit. Walt Flanagan does a SIT show called Walt Flanagan Draws. Here we see Walt render and tells us about some of his favorite heroes and villains. I'm a Deadshot fan love his design as Walt points out, his design is of Boba Fett greatness. I love the character and his pencil thin mustache. I dig the full Deadshot mask as opposed to his current TV and video game renditions, where he has an open mouth more like Batman. I like how in Batman comics he's sort of a Bizarro version of Batman. Only his obsession isn't the bat in the window but the barrel of the gun. Batmite is a fun character and in the hands of a great writer like Grant Morrison or Pa ul Di ni the character can really work. For an amazing Fatman on Batman view on the character check out the the Diedrich B ader episodes . The Joker is of course the villain of all villains in comic books. His design is so pimp and yet creepy, whi...

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Officially Unofficial

Image
This one of the greatest smodco cartoons, with the Justice League's good old fish pal Aquaman . If you're an Aquaman fan and your not reading Geoff Johns current run on Aquaman stop what you;re doing and buy those comics. Geoff and Kevin even met up and did  some sw eet podcasts, for Fatman on Batman. Now, to blend official smodco goodness with unofficial but equally as awesome smodco goodness, another smodimation about Willy Wonka and his willy.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: More Bry

Image
Another Bry-centric edition of Saturday Smodcast Share Time. First a smodco cartoon show with audio from the TESD podcast. Now the epic continuation of the Why Bry? Tale of how Bryan Johnson bedded his girlfriends unattractive yet felatially oriented mother.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Groovy Cartoon Movie

Image
This week on share time we are showing a trailer for a feature length smodco cartoon. Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie, which debuts fittingly on April 20th in Atlanta. I hope the tour makes it down somewhere in Florida so I can catch it live. I love the trailer's energy. McChris wrote new songs for the movie and I'm very excited to hear them full out. The animation by Steve Stark is dependable and without seeing how he deals with a full story it's hard to critique on this blog. I totally dig all the Tim Burton Batman references in the film and I'm sure whatever Bane does will be pure gold. Check out this sweet video for the mcchris song used in the trailer called part one.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Sider chair 2 parter

Image
This week on Saturday Smodcast share time we have a two parter ready to go for your viewing pleasure, exploring the delightful subject of morbid obesity. I love the animation style of this short its very cutesy which is a good contrast with the usual depraved smodcast debauchery.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Toy Story and Neeson's cock

Image
Welcome back to Smodcast share time this week we have some very funny smodco cartoons. The first is titled Schindler's Toybox and is a parody of sorts of Toy Story 3 and Schindler's list. Over on Hollwood Babble-on Kev and Ralph are often talking about Schindler's dingus. Kev and Ralph love to tell jokes about the reported enormity of Liam Neeson's cock . This fan made compilation of Liam Neeson cock jokes is one of my favorites as well.

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: Sexy Time

Image
As often happens when listening to a smodcast show often the subject of discussion will veer towards that of a sexual nature. So todays smodco cartoon show selections are all about such sensual encounters. Our first offering is Scotty Mo and Fat Kev talking about the possibilty of traveling through time and having a three way with yourself. This next premium smodcast animation features the exploits of Kevin Smith's wife Jen. Jen and Kev have an outstanding podcast called plus one which is extemely entertaining. Especially their episode with wrestling legend Mick Foley . Another plus on fav is called the jengularity .

Saturday Smodcast Share Time: The Knock Off

Image
If you've enjoyed the previous smodcast share time blog posts I've done, this one will be a slight departure. Thus far, I have only featured official Smodcast Internet Television cartoons . As you will see this next clip is a fan made version of a smodcast show.  The other unofficial Smodcartoon that capture's my fancy. This is a very rusty semi-crude in a sort of southpark style way, animation for the intro of one of my favorite Kevin Smith podcasts FATMAN ON BATMAN.  I love his Fatman on Batman podcasts their the first podcast of his I ripped though before jumping onto smodcast. On the podcast Kev talks with Paul Dini master Batman writer on several episodes. The topic is always some apect of the Dark Knight and the people who make the stories of the bat. Some of my favorite episodes are the two dedicated to Diedrich Bader, and another two Mark Hamill episodes that make you feel like you've experienced a hangout sesh with Mark Hami...

Smodcat Saturday Share Time

Image
For the past three months I have been suckling at the podcast teet of Kevin Smith 's Smodcast Internet Pocast network. I enjoy the flagship Smodcast show which is  usually Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier.  Kevin Smith is of course the writer/director of the horror film Red State , and the man behind one my favorite film universes, the Viewaskewniverse. Scott his long time producer on films like Chasing Amy , Mallrats , Dogma , Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back , Clerks and Clerks 2 . Scott's also a write in his own right having penned a some Ultimate Spider-man cartoons on Disney XD. On Smodcast Kev and Scott talk about their scrotal and anal health ,  Star Wars , Kev's high school production of Grease , Aquaman's life , basically anything pop culture, and anything remotely interesting. Usually turning it all into a bunch of blowjob and sex jokes. Naughty words abound and the material is extremely adult. I love it. As Kev would say His aural makes my...
