#VundaHalloweenAthon Day 3: "Final Girls"

Welcome to Day 3 of our #VundaHalloweenAthon

The 3rd theme of the month is "Final Girls." The rules are simple: pick a movie featuring your favorite final girl(s).

This is the perfect day to lean into your nostalgia this Sunday and catch up with all your favorite horror movie heroines. The sky is the limit and bonus Pumpkin Points if you watch more than one movie a day on theme!

Group Pick: Scream (1996) directed by Wes Craven. We got to go with Sidney Prescott our 90's libido's had a major crush on Sid, and she is one of the greatest survivors in all of horror movie-dom. Hopefully Scream 5 doesn't kill her off for some cheap heat.

D-Rock:
-Black Christmas (1974) directed by Bob Clark - 1h 38m - Shudder
-Terrifier (2016) directed by Damien Leone - 1h 26m - Tubi
-The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) directed by Tobe Hooper - 1h 23m (2h 38m w/ Joe Bob Briggs Commentary) - Shudder

Stephen:
-Terror Train (1980) directed by Roger Spottiswoode - 1h 37m - Shudder
-The Final Girls (2015) directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson - 1h 31m - Hulu

Dani:
-Ready or Not (2019) directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett - 1h 35m
-Evil Dead (2013) directed by Fede Álvarez - 1h 31m - IFC, Starz

Dani would like to award an honorable mention to Kirsty Cotton from the Hellraiser franchise for going a little crazy but always finding a way to survive.

Tell us about your picks on social media by tagging @Vundacast or @Vundablog and #VundaHalloweenAthon in your tweets or posts.

Our official #VundaHalloweenAthon art was done by Josh Stifter who is not only an artist but a filmmaker. If you subscribe to his Flush Studios Patreon you can access great behind the scenes content. He has two feature length films: The Good Exorcist is a comedic horror film made for $7000 under the supervision of Robert Rodriguez available on TromaNOW (perfect for "Spooky & Spiritual" day) or ask Josh about Greywood's Plot a film about friendship and cryptids, which is touring the world at film festivals. Josh also has tons of great horror shorts we might be recommending later in the month.
